Arise Nursing Led by Adesola Olawale

Adesola’s passion for continuity in care inspired her to establish a recruitment company serving the healthcare sector. Drawing on her background as a registered nurse, she successfully transferred her skills in communication, leadership, attention to detail, and adaptability to Arise Nursing eight years ago. Committed to excellence rather than mediocrity, Adesola has mastered the art of staff supply, positioning Arise Nursing as a leading provider to numerous nursing home chains. Her philosophy centers on a continuous willingness to learn and embracing knowledge in various forms. Adesola exemplifies leadership through service.

As the director of Arise Nursing, Adesola has championed the recognition and pride of healthcare assistants (HCAs). She has initiated impactful campaigns, such as the video “I Am Not Just an HCA,” which has motivated many individuals to register as HCAs and pursue their careers with renewed enthusiasm. For over 17 months, she has also served as the Registered Manager, overseeing daily operations for the domiciliary care services commissioned by Torfaen Council. Since the launch of these services on 7th May, Arise Nursing has experienced remarkable growth, expanding from supporting 10 service users with six healthcare assistants to becoming the primary provider of home care services for the Gwent Regional Partnership in South Wales. This transformation reflects a steadfast commitment to recognising each service user’s individuality, treating them with dignity, and focusing on their strengths rather than limitations.

Adesola’s healthcare journey began 25 years ago as a domiciliary care assistant, where she discovered her passion for supporting service users in daily activities, such as shopping and leisurely walks. This foundational experience instilled in her the principles of diversity and person-centered care. Motivated by her dedication to service, she pursued further education through an access course, ultimately gaining admission to the University of Suffolk (formerly University Campus Suffolk), where she earned a BSc in Adult Nursing.

Adesola Olawale

Director/Registered Manager
Throughout her studies, Adesola emphasised meticulous documentation, recognising its critical role in healthcare. Her commitment to lifelong learning has become a cornerstone of her nursing practice. The combination of rigorous academic training and practical clinical placements reinforced her belief that every individual, regardless of frailty or medical challenges, is capable of articulating their needs.

Over the years, Adesola has forged meaningful relationships with colleagues while establishing strong connections with service users. She has navigated complex challenges while promoting autonomy in elderly care, gaining invaluable experience in high-pressure emergency settings, including the Royal United Hospital Bath, The Grange University Hospital, and the University Hospital of Wales. Each role has deepened her understanding of dignity in healthcare.

As Registered Manager at Arise Nursing, Adesola is dedicated to ensuring the safe delivery of care while prioritising the safeguarding of service users. She fosters a culture of awareness and accountability among staff, ensures compliance with regulatory bodies, and actively contributes to the development and implementation of policies and procedures. By nurturing a positive workforce culture that encourages lifelong learning and discourages blame, she creates an empowering environment for both staff and service users. Additionally, through proactive risk management strategies, she maintains a safe and supportive care setting, providing platforms for service users to voice their concerns and ensuring that feedback is valued and acted upon.

Adesola champions individualised care, prioritising service users’ voices and fostering transparency. She has implemented initiatives to enhance mealtime experiences and engage loved ones in care planning, ensuring that care remains person-centered. Furthermore, she has introduced tools to escalate concerns regarding service users’ deterioration, keeping clinicians and families well-informed.

While Arise Nursing initially aimed to make continuity in care a possibility, feedback from service users and professionals has reinforced Adesola’s commitment to this mission. The organisation has surpassed expectations, transforming the goal from making continuity in care a possibility to making continuity in care a reality through a dedicated workforce and strong management, empowering service users and promoting their strengths over vulnerabilities.

Beyond her professional commitments, Adesola has a profound passion for horses and actively engages with her church community. As a devoted wife and mother, she skillfully balances her personal and professional responsibilities, making a positive and lasting impact in her community.
